Top tours of 02

I only saw four concerts in 2002, and three of them involved the Maidens.

There were some other tours that I had my eye on, but work schedule and/or distance nixed me seeing them. I'm particularly miffed that Engine's efforts to tour kept getting killed, but that's life in the music industry I guess...

At least you SoCal people have an awesome Metal scene!!!

Concerts are just way over priced these days. I rarely go anymore for that reason. I prefer club shows anyway. It amazes me that Jimmy Buffett is still selling well. I read he plays Margaritaville twice in concert. Wonder if his fans can tell? :tickled:

Funny thing about Cher is that was actually the first concert I went to. Back in 1979 my folks took me to the Greek Theatre when I was just a kid. That was pre-plastic surgery and bad single Cher so I'm sure tix were way cheaper for that show.

I was going to say that I was surprised that Neil Diamond didn't place higher on that chart, but then I remembered that he really didn't tour that much through 2002. He probably would have given Sir Paul McCartney a run for his money had he been touring longer through last year.

It was also nice to see that in the top 100 that Tool placed fairly high and also had about the lowest average ticket prices in the top 20 of artists that placed. Of course, Tool tours like Metallica does, so it was good to see them maintain consistent business this year despite a sluggish economy. :)

I see that Diana Krall only ranked 68. Time to give Heiress a call maybe?
