Ok done alot of searching and didnt find what i am after.
What levels do you record your drums at. I am getting ready to try my first real project, but only have limited time to get it tracked. So i dont want to record them to hot or to cold. But i want to make sure to leave enough head room to mix with. Same goes for guitar bass and vocals. I was thinking around -6 would be a good place to start.
Also when you set the input at say -6, if say the drummer neds more hihats or whatever can you use the faders without changing the input values?
