Trigger in Pro Tools...

Sry guys if this topic was mentioned before (i couldn't find it) or its simply just to stupid to ask *blush*...

I was wondering how are you using trigger on mono tracks in PT... are you using it in stereo mode or in mono (let's say for close mic'd snare). It was logical to me to use it in mono since the close snare sound is recorded with one mic, but now that i tryed it in stereo it sounds different, wider and fuller...

Can someone give me a heads up for this or just tell me if i am doing it wrong? Should i be using it always in stereo and not only when i wish to include snare room (which is obviously recorded stereo)?

I use it in stereo mode in order to get make use of the stereo room and OH tci's. It sounds, like you said, much wider and fuller. But there's no hard and fast rules. If it sounds good, it is good.

Yeah you are right... i migh just go with all in stereo then... it sounds much nicer! Tnx for your input!

You can use it in mono or stereo.
You have mono and stereo samples.
Usually the closed mic'd sound samples are really in mono.
