Trying to find a drum sound for my band

I'm wondering whether someone could give me some feedback on this drum sound. I'm trying to find a drum sound for my band's album, but I'm not sure whether I've got there yet.

I used Superior Drummer 2.0 and Steven Slate Drums.

I realise some of the snare hits are flams and I'm going to fix that in the future, but if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it.

Well from a first listen, most of the samples sound too dry and thin. Perhaps you should upload this drum sound in a full mix with guitars and bass etc so people can give better feedback.

I've decided to try my hand at creating another drum sound.

I've used the drum MIDI data from 'Lords Resistance Army' by Feared to illustrate the kit sound.

I'd really appreciate some feedback as I'm getting quite frustrated with hardly making any progress with my band's album .

really hard to tell without a full mix dude....try to find sounds for everything, then put them together and see how it sounds.
also you could think of a drumsound you like if you dont know what you want yet...in case you have an album were you love the drumsound for example...

Here's something with some instruments. The mix isn't good, but it's good enough to see how the drums will pretty much sound in a mix I think. It was mainly improvised and the distorted guitar tone was picked in a hurry. I'm wondering what you guys think of this drum sound with instruments.

Also, what do you think of the clean guitar sound in the centre?

throw some parallel compression on that puppy and you're set.

clean guitar sounds nice imo
drums will work I think, you maybe want to tweak them a bit more in the final mixing stage

I'm certainly going to tweak the drums a lot more when mixing. I think I'm getting closer to finding the right sound.
