I know they're quite different from each other, but these are two of my absolute favorite bands and I can't find anything close to their sound that doesn't sound too cheesy or cliched.

I should also mention that I've already tried Hammers of Misfortune and every band Chris Black is a part of and I didn't really feel any of it.

On the Slough Feg front, check out Argus and Valkyrie. The latter is much more on the doom side of things, but they have that kind of folk-y Slough Feg melody to them. Although perusing a few Dawnbringer songs on YouTube I don't think doom is a problem for you (I'll need to look into those guys further). Along that line, Quicksand Dream is worth hearing as well.

I've tried Argus several times before, and while I love the instrumentation, the vocals just kind of spoil it for me. Although the hook in that particular song you posted is so good that I was able to get past the vocals. And that Valkyrie song is sick, I'll definitely check more of them out. Thanks for the suggestions, more are welcome.

I'm no stranger to doom by the way, I love bands like Warning and Pallbearer, so if you have anything in that department let me know.
