TS9 Vs Maxon 808 Vs SD-1 - Pedal Wars

This is an ongoing quest to find "it" - "it" means different things to each of us.

But on my quest to find "it" I would like to know if anyone has found "it" via this guy ?

"it" = translation: the tone that ruptures testicles.
I have found it in a stock Maxon OD-820.

I got a hand made TS clone, It's made by a swedish guy.
You can switch between the TS-9 and TS-808.
It Also got a switch for assymetric and something else I can't remember the word for.
This pedal is amazing and is a pedal I know I'm gonna keep forever.
It has better components then those who is made in factory.
Every one that got this one has sold their other TS pedal.

Just got a new Maxon 808 (re-issue series or whatever) a couple of days ago. In front of my Randall RH100.. it's definitely improved the sound. Richer single notes + sustaaaaain. Lower chords are fat. Almost too fat.. tightened the low end in general but, I got this 'grinding' sort of effect with notes seeming to fight each other. I'm tuned to Bb, yet I've got 'seventy 80s' which have a higher 'resonance frequency' than say a V30 (95 vs 70), so perhaps that was something to do with it. (?) It did sound to me like a speaker sort of effect. (not that I'm experienced enough to really be at all sure)

Apart from that, top end is smoother.. but sharper... if that can possibly make any sense heh.

Maxon would like to thank Andy and this forum for leading me down the path that ended with me giving them my money ;)

That is seriously badass!!!

I have the Ibanez 808 reissue and the Maxon OD 820, and to be honest, I find them interchangeable. But this Swedish pedal just LOOKS so rad!!! Can they be ordered online?

Surely there is a Swedish word for version?

Agreed - that pedal is quite the rad looker.

PS Death Work - your english is quite good!

I have one of the Analogman modded TS pedals. I really like what it does to the rectos - it takes a bit of the frying pan sizzle out, and makes the whole sound "better", it's hard to put in to words, but it just sounds better to me, and to everyone else that has tried it. It does wonders for the 5150 as well.

Sometime soon I'll post some sound samples.

well, i'm mainly talking about sound quality here. i've owned a ts7 for several years now, and it never broke down. i'm just wondering if theres any noticable difference between the ts7 and the ts9 and the ts808

I've tried to get ahold of him, but without success. But what I've heard is that he have stopped making them.

I remember him saying that he only wanted it to be a hobby, making them most for fun. So maybe it killed the joy when he had many orders
