Tube question, Help

It seems that one power tube in my new amp isn´t working , no glow at all.
im gonna replace it with a mesa 6L6, my question is , maybe this sounds dumb but im pretty new in tube amp, can i put two diferent brand tubes in the amp, i mean i´ve read about diferent types of 6L6 and stuff, so i wanna be sure when i replace the bad tube.

another quiestion is if i can still play the amp without this tube, how this affect the tone?, less gain, less volume, bad tone, muddier, thiner??

If you try and play without that tube it will either not work or be quiter depending on the amp. You can use different brands in one head. It will work but I would recomend you puy a new one and match it.

I wanna buy the entire kit, but maybe later, i have a deal on a mesa replacement i think im gonna use it.
the amp works,and sounds good, but cause i never play it with all the tubes working, i dont know the diference, i know there is one, but don´t know if is a tone diference or a volume diference

I found this out, juslike you are. I replaced 1 bad tube with 1, and ended up with a real crappy sound. You gotta get a matched pair.
