twilight in olypus

I like "Twilight In Olympus" more than the "Odyssey". It's my 2nd favorite Symphony X album after "V". One word to describe "Twilight": magical.

I think Twilight has the best tone from the instruments, but the album as a whole is not their best. The four most memorable songs for me are Through the Looking Glass, Smoke and Mirrors, Church of the Machine, and Lady of the Snow...

It would be their fourth best, behind V, Divine Wings, and The Odyssey...

its a really good album definately. I never really got into the 2nd half of the album as much as the first (Smoke and Mirrors - Church of the Machine - IN THE FUCKING DRAGONS DEN - and Through the Looking Glass has got to be one of the most solid sequences of songs on any CD.

Orion - the hunter is one of the most underrated songs ever.
I'd get DWoT or V before getting TiO. But if thats all you cd shop has, still get it as it is awwwwwwwsome.

I've got a really strange feeling on TiO: although it has some of the best songs by Symhony X (Through the looking glass, the relic, Lady of the snow), i don't like it that muich as a whole...

I don't get how everyone knocks TiO for being too short? It is 50 minutes long, which is longer than most albums. Most Death metal albums are like 40 mins. Also alot of power metal albums. I think prog is one of the only metal subgenres that have like 70 minute albums (ther is exeptions of course)

I think it's one of their best albums...although I don't believe this myself, a case could be made that SX has improved with each one of their subsequent releases. Twilight is every bit as good as Divine Wings, and not that far removed in quality from V.

I agree for the most part... I really think Symphony X improved dramatically from "Divine Wings" to "Twilight"... it's much tighter and the compositions are more varied and sophisticated
