Just downloaded clips from both of the new bands announced for Bloodstock (Nowhere Near The Garden and 7 Years Dead) and they both don't seem to fit in with the rest of the bands playing (esp. NNTG who i could imagine being played on MTV2). Anyway, who cares? We got Sonata, Bodom and Gamma Ray to look forward to..

Ever heard White Buffalo?

Never known a band so unmatched with Bloodstock, not in a million years would I have guessed they would be on the bill. They played in a pub near me, it's damn bizzare.

7 years dead have the makings of a good band if they could stop trying to be amercan and if they decided to write something a bit more metallic... As for nowhere near the garden i can definately see what you mean by not suited... They have some talent there but they aint metal... Another White Buffallo situation we have here... Nowhere... have a very grungey feel to them... why cant we just keep it strictly metal!

This year so far the only bands in the Darwin Suit I'm interested in as FWK, Cruachan and Humanity.

I think there's a lot more diversity in the Darwin Suite and at previous bloodstocks I usually only 4 or so bands.

It's the mainstage that I'm interested in. So far I'm a fan of every single band on there this year. Thus apart from the above mentioned I doubt I'll check out any of the others.

i agree with you there mate, arent the prophecy in the darwin suite? they are rather good... Cruachan deserve a mainstage slot... ive said it before and ill say it again!

Well I will be watching every band on the mainstange if possible! I have not heard anything of the bands in the darwin stage except a 2 minute sample of FWK which seemed pretty good!
I'll just watch every band on mainstage and check out any other bands if I have any spare time!
Or if I can find any samples on the net i'll check them out before I go!

Didn't realise White Buffalo had been removed but rightly so. Those two bands are both very unsuitable, just had a listen. I really think it's a bad idea putting them on. Some people would probably be openly hostile to the Nu band especially.

It's like Funeral for a Friend supporting Iron Maiden... as if you would do that!

The sample I heard of Seven years dead sounded ok but yeah not for Bloodstock. Checked out nowhere near the garden aswel...they are playing at glasdonbury....should stick to thatn ot bloodstock!!!
"for real metalheads" real metalehads will not like NNTG!

Checked out all the other bands too. Ritual of Hate sound fucking class...death/thrash metal!!! Gutworm I would never listen to but I would love to see them live...go proper fucking crazy..hehe
Humanity sound class aswel!
Need to check out the prophecy!

Just this second checked out Cruachan.........first mp3 on their website and after 30 seconds they have moved right up there to near the top of bands I want to see at Bloodstock!!!!!!! It was bloody well amazing stuff :headbang:

I think it might be a good idea for just one kerrang supported, angry, swearing, rappin' mad at thier parents nu metal band to play at bloodstock as we could have some sort of competition on who could be the most abusive amd hostile towards them. The winner could get a Bloodstock Real Metalheads T shirt as a prize!

Sounds like a good idea! I wish the rumurs about Funeral For A Friend playing cos they'd be a perfect band for this type of competition! do you hink these two new bands announced will get to finish their sets?

the fact that garden band are playing at glastonbury kind of put my off, whereas the other band sound a bit to NWOAHM

i dont even know what the f**k half these abbreviations mean, lol!

As for the darwin suit... i dont mind who plays, if vince lets em play they must have some merit:) also its not like the DS is ever that packed anyway... most people are either 2 busy gettin signings or watching the main stage... oh and by the way listen out for the gettysberg cd (IE) being played in the half hour slot before Bodom hit the main stage:)
