Two new bands announced are bad

Oh trust me ironeagle, if you heard the bands youd realise how unsuited they are... I think Vince has made a mistake here myself... Although to be fair the mainstage mor than makes up for it...

C'mon guys, this festival is all about diversity. If we had 26 bands all sounding the same then we would last 5 minutes!!

Look at who we have had in the past - In 2002 12pointhead stood out like a sore thumb and yet won over 300 folk who witnessed their set!

Last year we had Illuminatus and Fulc and Invey and Ninedenine - not your traditional metal but British Rock that we should be proud of and look where Illuminatus are at today - voted best band of the day by Powerplay magazine, and back again this year on the main stage.

NowhereNearTheGarden are in the same vein - a bit of Zeppelin (listen to Go Tell a Dead Man, Hurricaned) and U2 and many other influences in there somewhere. Still a UK based band, still rock - not nu-metal (they do do guitar solo's!) at all!! You will be surprised when you see them!!:headbang:

I'd still call all of those bands metal tho' (Illuminatus especialy), so they weren't Trad/Power/Thrash/Extreme/Gothic but so what Illuminatus were a damn good prog Metal band (Not like those bores Tool) and belonged at this fest more than anywere else.

see, speak and he shall come, as was said, fulc werent in anyway the same as the rest, stood out but rocked out! they where brit rock and good brit rock at that... just everyone thank f**k that they dont cover limp bizkit or or and so forth!

Its a good point about not having bands that sound all the same but you can't really say there's any resemblence in the music of C.O.B, Sonata Arctica, and Cruachan can you? Anyway, its gonna be a great 2 days and im gonna listen to all the bands and give 'em all a chance cos if they're good enough for Bloodstock then their good enough for me...

bring on Sep 3rd and 4th!!!

Yep. I, for one, appreciate the diversity, and I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the bands I was introduced to at Bloodstock (e.g., Illuminatus, Fifth Man Down, etc.) I also wouldn't have said 12pointhead stood out like a sore thumb, either (apart from the name -- I was expecting a Kerrang! friendly nu-metal band based on that). I've never heard many of the bands that people are complaining about, but even if they're not my thing, so what? If they please others and aren't completely out of place, then I'll be happy. After all, if the band choice was dictated purely by appeal to a mass audience, then many of the bands I like would be unlikely to get a chance...

Well there is always going to be bands you don't like at any festival! It's very unlikely you will be a fan of every band! Personally from what I've heard of some of the bands there are a few i don't like....a few more i'd watch but only if theres nothing better on and the majority of them I like! SO overall it's going to be a hell of a festival and i'm looking forward to checkign out a couple of the bands i've not heard much by if I get the chance!
Bands are heavier live aswel than in the studio.

Hey, I'm not intending on watching several bands on the line up.

I'm all for diversity, and there's nothing wrong with NNTG playing. If the Darwin empties, it's simply a case that Vince won't book bands like that again.

I'm going to at least give them a chance to prove me wrong. I like being proved wrong when i'm being negative. It restores my faith in the cosmos.

Well I love watching a band when it's pretty empty. You get all the space you want to go mad! :p
I'll give them a chance if I have time to...if don't like them ya can always just go do something else so it's not a problem!
All shall be revealed on the day!!!
