Type O Negative guitar tone

Anyone have any tips on how to achieve their guitar tone especially October Rust? I know the bass guitar plays a big role as well. A band I'm recording wants a sound similar to it. I'm having trouble getting a big deep atmospheric guitar sound for a goth/doom type metal band. Anyone have any advice. I'm using amp sims.

The only thing i remember is about WCD
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier for the guitars.
Peter used Peavey amps with various distortion pedals(even guitar amps).
The reverb on October Rust is absolutely amazing,very special atmosphere!

Think I read somewhere he was using an ada mp-1 before WCD
