UAD PLUGINS QUESTIONS HELP!!!

Hey I just have a few questions about the UAD plugins.

-Do these plugins compare to other high end plugin manufactures such as Waves plugins?

-I'm getting a UAD-1 card. Can I install this on a laptop?

-What's new for UAD Plugins? Any recent updates or any type of upgrade from the original UAD-1 card?

-How many different UAD cards are there and why are there so many different PCI cards?

-How do these plugins affect your CPU?

-Do you recommend these plugins?

Please share your experiences or preferences along with your opinions!!

- UAD plugins sound better than most other plugins. By far...
- Don't get a UAD-1 it's too old. If you want to use it on a laptop get a UAD-2 Satellite (Firewire).
- UAD Plugins don't affect your CPU.

One of the main reasons that I want the UAD-1 card, is so I can have Nigel. I'm buying a card for 100 bucks. Am I able to install the UAD-1 card on my LAPTOP?

no i dont really think theres enough room if you even have enough/right expansion slot available. do some reseach about your specific laptop online via manufactures website or seek out your manual.... the card itself (too lazy to look up right now) is probably a pci or a pcie card type. though, if you had a pc this wouldnt be an issue at all most likely.

You can install it on your laptop only using an expansion chassis.

There's also the UAD 2 Solo card that plugs into your laptop via an expresscard slot.
