SnakeNet Metal Radio in association with Sinister Heart Promotions and Oran Mór Productions are currently searching for unsigned metal bands who would like to participate in the first ever UK National Battle of the Bands!

The heats will be taking place both in London and Bradford starting January 2004, so the bands from Northern England and Scotland don’t have to travel all the way to the south. The final will be held in London in December 2004 and we are hoping to be able to give some nice prize to the winner.

Bands interested in playing the Bradford heats should contact Tony at tony@oranmor.net and for the London heats please contact Alex at saska@snakenet.com. We will consider every unsigned band who is not yet firmly established in the UK metal underground.

We are still looking for sponsors who would be interested in participating in this great project. All interested parties should contact Alex at saska@snakenet.com for more details.

Metal on! \m/

We are no longer looking for sponsors cuz we found some and they are:

Peaceville Records
Terrorizer
Golden Lake Productions

First round in London on 10th January in The Underworld and the second one on 21st February at The Empress in Bradford.

That's really good news regarding the sponsors! I wonder if Peaceville will be scribbling down any notes about the bands ;)

You really should post the info about this on the Blood River forum (post it on the General Metal discussion board). They host forums there for 22 underground UK bands (mostly BM) and i know alot of the band members post there, so it should be a good way of getting the message to some otherwise very well hidden bands!

You could also post on the Black Metal Web board which is very UK oriented.

These battle-of-the-bands things have never been an amazing success before due to most bands not knowing about them so it's important to get the info around in time for bands to prepare. Also give Terrorizer a good kick up the arse to make sure they get something in there about it ASAP.
