Ultimate Metal is a disease

:lol:

Although I know from my life that it doesn't have to be UM. In some desperate cases a broom or a vacuum-cleaner will do also... :)

man I CAN'T get any work done until the last moment...if I have a week off with nothing to do and an assignment due the day I get back, I just can't do it before the night before.. I'll sit and stare at my computer, and I CAN'T write....wierd

You're not alone with your "problem" :) I usually do the dishes first. Then I realize how dirty my paprtment is... After that I really really need to get some fresh air... ;) And the comes the night and I stay up and do my assignments/read for an exam...

sadistik, dotnoir - same here. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the guilt. And it isn't just schoolwork -- I'm trying hard as hell to get a decent job this summer, but the time I allocate beforehand to writing job applications usually gets split like 1/10 writing and cursing, 9/10 something totally fucking useless...

I'd like to slow the Earth's rotation so that we'd get something like a 32 hour day... that'd leave almost enough time to get everything done and even grab some decent Z's ...

i'm positively reconsidering um, these days. i'm having a typical sleep-zero week and if it wasn't for the board, i'd be more bored than ever. last night i spent hours playing with photoshop and some graphic stuff while chatting (with some fellow night creatures), reading and spamming the board. i also tried counting sheeps and listening to dream theatre (someone said it might have helped) to get asleep, but it just didn't work :bah: perhaps a baseball bat in the head? :lol:

it's theater because they think they're hip. ;)

@Rei
That usually helps for me... /forum/images/smilies/goggly.gif
I've used to sleep my head 20cm from my computer and the humming is very soothing (not the *crak azzziiit screech hrakz* sound) BUT! One night i shut it down and noticed that I couldn't sleep... maybe you'll think of something like that. and if you listen to a record, you'll never sleep. only if it's a record you knowby heart so you "don't have to listen to it"... get it...

i sleep pretty well on older malevolent creation records and a few of the most intense ebm albums out there (decoded feedback, hocico...). that doesn't mean i don't like them. on the contrary, if i can be lulled to sleep by a record, this really means i appreciate it a lot. :)

@nevershine: actually, i fell asleep on the computer more than once. using the keyboard as a pillow is not very comfortable :p
and yes, music isn't of any help, to me... listening to a buzzing tv in the background is much better ;)

I've found that Endura, Amber Asylum, Lustmord and Current 93 work best for me :)

...although sometimes it's rather disconcerting when I'm just about to fall asleep with quiet music in the background and then Mr. Tibet suddenly screams "Dead! Dead! Dead! Dead!"

Lustmord's "The Place Where the Black Stars Hang" and Endura's "Black Eden" are the two best black ambient albums ever. EVER! *SHAKES FIST*

Although Black Eden gives me ultimate creeps in (ultimate) hangover. And to continue the sexual orientation -style, Amber Asylum is as gay as gay can be.
