They used to be the most amazing thrash band that nobody'd ever heard of. Then I spent three months spamming forums with praise for them and circulating mp3s. Jon Torres still owes me a drink.
Anyway, they were a Bay Area thrash band in the mid-80s that never made it, mainly due to personal issues. In late 2003 their demos were remastered and repackaged as the Above the Ashes compilation, which is just an incredibly fucking thrash album and well worth listening to for anyone who likes, well, metal. They've since reunited and been gigging around northern California. And I've totally failed to see them live.
I think that's easily their best song. The second demo is definitely much better. After many repeated listens, I think that especially the first demo starts to unravel and you how how frail the structures really are, and the vocals get a bit shriekily annoying. Honestly, though, I need to give it another listen, but I don't think that I will be altering my opinion much.
