Unemployment

Somthing like that happened while I was a shelf packer at BigW while going through year 10.

I turned a year older, and shifts started getting cancelled, which became "we'll call you", until I resigned as there was no money.

Speaking of age and getting jobs, how hard would it be for me now to get a part time job taking into consideration that I'm 18 and have never worked before?
I'm guessing McDonalds and that wouldn't want me, what sort of places would I be looking at?

Could always go to Coles or K-Mart and see if they've got any openings for night packers. My younger brother did that and he's now the night fill captain, which is practically the equivalent of the store manager

My mate had the same thing happen to him at K-mart. Just stopped getting shifts when he turned 18.

Another mate didn't bother getting a job till he was 24 or so, the lazy fuck. Safeway or Coles (can't remember which) gave him a job as a night packer dude.

Yeah I'm about 5 minutes from Parramatta.

Yay, I got the boot from my job today. Work is drying up and they had to start cutting the temps, and I was first one off the block. I was going to quit within the week, but I wanted to do it on my terms, ie tell them I'm quitting on Friday. They beat me to it, though, and gave me 3 hours notice. At least it gave me an excuse to slack off for the rest of the day.
