So...I may or may not have been constructing something that could or could not be a new thrashy proggy style metal project based out of Orlando, Florida...and I could or could not use some help coming up with some possible names for this possible project.

It seems that a band name itself can help a person decide whether or not to take a band seriously, buy a band's cd, or even watch them at a show that someone else is playing at they initially came to watch.

So I come seeking opinions and ideas from our ever so opinionated community here in an effort to add to my list of possible names to choose from.

Satan's Anus - You'll never do anything but headline because Satan's Anus opens for NO ONE! I will gladly sell you the rights to his name.....

Meat Raffle - I've only seen the signs for a "meat raffle" here in WI. Perhaps they exist in bars elsewhere.....this one's a freebie......:heh:

Look towards the Anime community. There are so many names out of there that you can use that would be legitimate band names that nobody has used yet.

If I started a band, it would be called Autumnal Remains. I saw it in one of the books in the Wrinkle in Time series and always though it would be a cool name for a band, sounds kind of doomy though. That being said, I will never start a band and will have no need for it.

What about something simple, like Phrygian? It sounds cool enough that non musicians can like it, while musicians or wanna be's will know that the music will be dark and likely complicated.

On a serious note, I've always liked when a band names themselves after a song that was highly influential to them. No point in mentioning any names as 99.999% of folks on here probably won't know any of them, but, for example, lets say the song "Soundchaser" by Rage is a big influence on the band...theres the name of your band.

Cygnus X-2
Farenheit 452
Temporal Riff
Knot Slayer
Knight of Knives
Muggledeth

or, just take common phrases and misspell them deliberately to look illiterate, and make sure to use lots of Z's instead of S's.

Kopperhedz
Satanic Serenadz
Luciferz Hammer

These suggestions are all free, more will cost you ;)

Ken

NIGHT RAPTOR.

Inquisitor seemed like an obvious choice, and while it *has* been taken, it's by a bunch of obscure south American and eastern European thrash/black metal bands that nobody has heard of. Personally I think it gravitates towards Doom, and I may end up using it, if things pan out with some guys I may possibly do vox for.

Volcannon, Battlehammer

feh. i'm out.
