So I got The Dance Music Manual by Rock Snoman and the information in it is absolutly astonishing.

Anyways, the GF is bugging me about Christmas and I figured she could throw in a book with other stuff.

So what good books are out there? I searched amazon and it was flooded, so I wouldn't know.

Up-to-date, meaning, discussion about current mastering software? Or extreme loudness without distortion?

Either way, Bob Katz' book was and probably still is the best.

i know it's on a different genre, but it's principlces extend to all genre's Rick snoman's dance music manual is really cool about explaining things in plain english, granted there is a lot of synth stuff in there, but the actual processing and mastering of audio in there is really well written imo

Something up to date that covers a wide area of the very hard to teach someone subject.

Looks like Mastering Audio by Bob Katz is pretty well rounded and well informed. Thanks for the tip.
