Uriah Heep in Atlanta June 14

Yep, looking forward to this.

It is conveniently located less that 1/4 mile away from the Little 5 Points Vortex, too.

Talk about win-win.

Saw the setlist from May in Europe-- not too shabby, a little heavy on the new album, but still pretty decent.

The show was excellent-- another one of those moments like I had with Styx last year where an extremely veteran, *ahem* older band totally blew me away.

While I would have preferred one or two less new songs and a couple more classic tracks-- but overall that set was a great early selection-- I thought they peaked with "Gypsy" and "Look at Yourself" but then "July Morning" brought the place down...

That inebriated guy in the Brian May shirt was somewhat entertaining for a couple minutes, too.

Wow, Esa, some of those shots are REAL "money shots." Great work!

Thanks Paul -- it was an unforgettable experience: an unexpected shooting opportunity that I was determined to give my best to.

The band seems equally determined to make this THE comeback year in the U.S., after last year's embarrassing visa fumbles. So far, things appear to be going according to plan: record-breaking attendance at Riverbend Festival, and 4000+ attendance in Ohio.

There's Easy Livin', Stealin', and Lady in Black -- but the iconic Uriah Heep track for us hard-core fans will always be July Morning. Disregard the follow-spot blowouts - this is an ode to a respect-the-classics proto-metal band, their marquee live track, and one of the most underrated bassists of all time, Trevor Bolder.

They were incredible in Annapolis on Saturday. And speaking of underrated, how about Mick Box? The guy is a wizard on guitar, but it's not always obvious. July Morning is a great example.

It was so cool to see those guys. They did not miss a beat. This could very well be the best live gig i have ever seen. And I got 'Rainbow Demon'. The set was way to short but I'm sure it was past their bedtime.
Thanks for the show Justin; I introduce you to Heep, you take me to see them live a fair trade.

We didn't get "Look At Yourself" this time, but "Rainbow Demon" more than made up for it.

I definitely think they could cut 1-2 of the new tracks and replace them with pretty much any of the 'classic' stuff.

Atlanta set:
I'm Ready
Return to Fantasy
Stealin'
Rainbow Demon
Money Talks
Drum Solo
Nail on the Head
The Wizard
Into the Wild
Gypsy
Look at Yourself
Kiss of Freedom
July Morning
Lady In Black

Encore:
Free 'n Easy
Bird of Prey
Easy Livin'

Cutting 1 or 2 new tracks? How many newer tracks are there in that setlist? Only 4, and all from the newest disc. They could remove one or 2 from the new one and add a couple ones from the excellent Sea Of Light and also from Wake The Sleeper. Even remove a 70s song and add one from one of their 80s discs would be cool. If I were able to attend one of these shows, I'd appreciate that they also play newer songs, and not just 70s stuff. Cause their last 2 discs are among their best IMO. And Sea Of Light is also killer stuff. Sonic Origami was way too mellow though.

I hope to be able to catch Heep live someday, even if it's unlikely as they never play Canada as it seems...

Heep rocked Chattanooga on the the 16th. 75 minute set, due to being a festival no doubt. Of the new ones they played, Nail on the Head was the best.
Of the classics, Rainbow Demon & Stealin' were stellar!
