US Tour-Not? Yes?

Woo!

I've never seen DT, I will definitely be at the Lake Buena Vista show =]

House of blues has great sound... and amazing food too

I hope "US" secretly means "North America".

KsE just played a massive Canada tour with In Flames, but if there are no Canadian dates this time around - there will be some on the next tour.

A mere speculation, but since there is a mention of seveal tours for the album - I'm predicting a headlining trek in the fall.

"There will be both support and headline tours in the US for this album - don't worry! :p"

Oh, sweet relief :D
Yes, that's good news.

Plintus, Baltimore is a strange place, I agree with you. That's not to say there wasn't some "user error" involved in your debacle, but you do have to be on your toes. There aren't clear bad sections of town. It's one block good, one block bad, one block good, one block bad. And all the fucking one-way streets. Gah, I'm getting stressed just thinking about it.

Indeed, poor DT, they deserve better bands. This really shows the state of the economy in the U.S., putting (almost totally) unrelated bands together and make a tour out of that.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph
Are you insane or just an idiot, how did you come up with this nonsense, US economy = anything to do with this tour
From many of your posts, I know you have some sort of hatred for the USA,
I don't ever care why, I always thought you were just some bozo with a keyboard
but danny boy I now understand you're nothing but bigot -

Oh, I fucked up alright :)

Baltimore was one of those places my parents always warned me to be careful about (well, my parents have no idea of ghetto, so just in theory), and I never thought that would happen to me (duh!) It's really bizzare to me to this day how bad pretty much everything about the trip turned out (should have turned away when I saw hotel's front desk guy missing a front tooth :D) The only good thing is still in my fridge: a bottle of 1999 Clicquot I've got there and haven't seen anywhere since.

And about blocks being one bad-one good: totally true, even in nicer sections of town, it was like a police precinct across the street and strip clubs and hustlers around the corner (literally).

Lesson learned, and Baltimore is off the map for me. Fo'lyfe :)

(And I keep the right being idiot from time to time :p But no more more than 5 shots of Monster+vodka in a row ever again :D)

DC is the same shit in some places, especially around the Capitol Hill area. You could be driving on the same street as everyone else, miss your turn, and then take the next and find yourself in the worst ghetto you've ever seen... for just one block.

In general that DC-Baltimore area is the strangest part of the United States, at least to me. It's like so many different towns and urban areas of every conceivable type squashed onto the Beltway and 95. Baltimore just happens to be the least nicest slice of it.

I mean, I watched the whole WIRE series, but that shit is off the hook in seemingly nicer areas since it's block by block.

Philly is not like that, at least not in the Center City area; North Philly is Vietnam (shit starts radically from north of City Hall, and one shouldn't wander north of that at any time of the night). West Philly after 60th street is shady and dangerous, South Philly is some places, but CC is quite nice and safe.

Ghetto people are hanging around The Gallery by the Troc, buuuut fuck this place, I'm moving to suburbs :D

See, I like that kind of consistency in my cities so I can avoid running into Charlie. There's a place in the beltway west of College Park called Takoma Park, and if you ask most people they're like DON'T EVER GO THERE. It's like the worst ghetto you'll ever see. Except... inside Takoma Park there's an area that literally looks like Providence or Boston. It's crazy. I'm more used to Chicago, it's much easier to keep track what part of town I'm in.

Totally derailing the thread, but...you're right on this one too. I work at the Capitol, and I only know one safe route in and out of that neighborhood, so I'd be screwed if it were ever shut down.

Most of Takoma Park is actually really nice. The only part that isn't is the part that abuts Prince George's County (ghetto), which is where I grew up.

I keep waiting for rahvin to join this conversation.

I don't reccomend Southwest Philly either. Yuck.

That being said, Plintus, AC show? Found a cheap way of getting there, with gambling money to spare.

Back on topic, I may try to swing watching them at the Palladium in Dallas... although I wonder why they're playing in Milwaukee and not Chicago. The HOB Chicago is one of my favorite venues ever, good sound, good area, booze and food nearby... Milwaukee sucks.

Most people in College Park seem to think Takoma is all ghetto. One of my profs invited me for dinner in Takoma Park in 2008, and I was like, WHAT. Mark's Diner has good vegeterian food.

Speaking of which, there's a couple of cool places in Adams Morgan DT could play in, I wonder why a lot of bands gravitate towards MD for shows instead of DC.

I've been to South West Philly ghetto for a party (where Yau fell on his face and his Nikon and puked all over himself, and I left him outside like that in the night for an hour or so), and it all went quite well.

Maybe heard some gunshots, dunno, was fun though.

I'm going to AC, Mini OR train, depends on the weather and my schedule. Might get a room at the hotel to stay over :dopey:

I don't even want to know

Take the casino bus across the street from the Troc, it's 20 dollars, and you get your money back when you get to AC.

^kudos, might as well!

I might hitch a ride, busses will be around the same as a car for a day (with all expenses), so I'll see when the time comes.

Two days in NYC FTW! No LA for me on this tour as of now, buuuuut too early to say anyway :D

Yeah, Phil and I are going to do that, and maybe others, too. We'll see.

Depends on if those buses go to the Showboat or not.

I'm running out of patience. It will be almost 2 years since coming to Canada last. Last time was incredible though - was my first time seeing DT and Arch Enemy and they both killed it, shitty venue and all.

Can't believe Killswitch is on the US bill. Here's to hoping kse doesn't make it north of the border. :erk:

Damn.... I need some Icipher! :kickass:

I hear there's another DT tour after this, like a month or two, or three, later.

Niklas, darling, can you confirm?
