Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a cheap option how to use the yamaha 808 subkick sample in live. I know that a lot of bands are using it live (As i lay dying, Caliban, and so on...)...

Which gear do i have to buy?!

Thank you! :notworthy

Yes... it's nice but a bit expensive for me right now... i was thinkig of PAD ... but i don't know what i need to chain the pad together with?!
What is the usual signal flow?

if you already have a laptop then you can use the pad with that and use the audio out of your laptop into the pa

i know a band that do it by putting a trigger on the BD, and the sampler loads up the subkick the next time you hit the kick drum

robfromthedeep, the controlpad isn't the same thing as the roland as it does not have onboard sampling.

However, an option would be to get an Alesis controlpad and an old Akai sampler of ebay, a midi cable, and then you have a system which can play back samples. This would probably be my way of going about it.

Hey guys... thanks for your answers...
I think i will try it first with a PAD into my audio interface->laptop->audio interface output->PA .

I thin it will work like that... otherwise... we'll have to get a yamaha 808... :)
