Have any of you heard of Vader, i downloaded one of they're songs and they're pretty sick, do any of you know anything about them.

Try De Profundis or Revelations- both are excellent Vader creates atmosphere in their death metal which is very very rare- I like the short pummeling tenacity of Litany- but many dont.

There are reviews at Royal Carnage for Litany and De Profundis. Needless to say, I love them both.

Vader are very well known among death metal fans. I have Revelations, Litany, and The Untimate Incantation. I got The Ultimate Incantation way back when it came out in the early 90s. Killer band.

Vader, Behemoth, and Decapitated are the best bands to come out of Poland. I think Vader's my favorite, though. Litany and Revelations have my approval. Oh, and De Profundis. They have so many albums..heh

vader are amazing. they are actually on tour right now will nile, kreator, amon amarth, and goatwhore. they played a brutal, but painfully short set. has anyone else caught this tour? did their set seem short?

I've never been a big fan of Vader. I've got Black to the Blind which is ok but too short, and i've got a couple dozen assorted mp3's from their other albums......bleh, is all i'll say. I like their attention to atmosphere and lyrics however, that's awesome, but the music is pretty bland to me.

Then i suggest you buy, download, steal a copy of 'Revelations' and 'Litany'. I wasn't too impressed by BTTB.

Well the story I heard about Litany was that after the writing and stuff they set up the music and worked out, with the timing of each song that the album would be 40 minutes long.

But...

Doc, the drummer, is a bit of a madman, and to keep up with him everyone had to speed up. The outcome was that they shaved 7 minutes of the album time.

That's crazy

Litany is a great album, as is Revelations.

I saw them at Wacken, they played after Slayer and still managed to be awesome, not too hard for a band as good as Vader.

Quote of the festival...Pete from Vader

"It will be hard to follow a band like Slayer...But we'll try"

Exactly the same with me except I don't have Revelations. Litany was a bit on the boring side but The Ultimate Incantation is a great album.

I will be seeing them live for the first time with Nile (2nd time), Kreator, Amon Amarth, and Goatwhore (also all for the first time) this Sunday evening.

I was supposed to see them (Vader) about 5 years ago. They were scheduled to open for Morbid Angel and Incantation but wound up cancelling at the last minute.

i like everythign i've heard. ultimate incantation, kingdom, black to the blind, de profundis, litany, revelations..future of the past has some fuckin excellent covers and reign forever world is good too. great band
