As much as the Halen bunch turned into a joke nowadays (they deserve to be beaten for what they did to Michael Anthony), I'm still a big fan. It's just high quality hard rock that tends to be a bit cheesy at times. Would love to see them at least once in my life. Eddie is one of, if not the most most innovative guitarist of all time. But it's not all but the wankery, the songs themselves are top notch, too.

Fuck Roth! When Sammy was around, he could actually play rhythm guitar behind ed's solos and even play some of his solos so Ed could get on the keyboard when they played live.

I always thought EVH was a great guitarist anyway, but to actually enjoy his playing, I have to listen to the cheesy singing that goes along with it.
