the ace of spades!!!!!!.they had some quite cool bands on the show.the damned were on there,madness too.it still is one of my fave comedy shows.it gets quite a lot of repeats in the uk.quite a lot of it is rather in jokey-i didnt think it would translate very well outside the uk.i'm glad i'm wrong.vivian was the best character,adrian edmunson was fucking hilarious as him.
those same guys who did the young ones later on did a spoof heavy metal band called bad news.did you guys ever see the two programmes they did with that?they were arse achingly funny.the guy who played viv in the young ones was the lead guitarist and singer called vim fuego.it was done around the same time as spinal tap,but i actually found it funnier.just my opinion though,the shows were called bad news and more bad news.check em out if you get a chance.

I might have to look up that boxset. Viv rules! The originator. That's where the Beavis & Butthead idea came from I think. There's no way that dick that came up with that toon wasn't a fan. He was old enough to have seen them right?!
