This remains, year after year, one of my favorite songs in any genre. Just saw Priest a few weeks ago and it was definitely a highlight of the show. Halford seemed a little bored sometimes on some of the '80's material, but for "Victim" and "Beyond the Realms of Death" the whole band's enthusiasm was just amazing.

Anyway, my question for you all is just what sort of metal genre would you put this song in? To me there aren't really any other metal songs that seem to approach the same style as "Victims." It's long and epic, but not really power metal. It's a ballad, I guess, but very heavy in places. I think it's the full range of dynamics that I love the most, actually.

If this song were a girl, I'd marry it.

I am listening to the song as I write this. It is a great song indeed!.

"If this song were a girl, I'd marry it."

That's great! I would say that the song is a classic.

Why music everything be labelled? If it rocks, it's good, if not, it's bad. Of course, this always being your opinion.....

Two choices: Good or Bad

No matter what genre it falls under, you will ALWAYS be able to put a track into GOOD or BAD ......

I second that, that was the time Rob was the best IMO, and this song showed how he could do just anything.
70's Priest owns :Spin:
