vid tour of Dave Mustaine's Line 6 rig - at Andy's studio!

If that's a clip of the amp at the beginning and end of the video, bleh.

Also, Mustaine is really annoying and tries way too hard.

Are you serious? then why everyone is starring at the rig behind this guy and writing down knobs positions of a nicely dialed peavey by Andy. :kickass:
Can you make next one with the pro tools session on the backround with the guitars bus eq?

Was that an add for Line 6 or Marshall? haha. He might as well have just used a Marshall instead of getting another company to try and emulate it.
thats what i was thinking. I basically heard that as "Marshalls are too heavy so I got a company to make some lighter ones that sound pretty much like a Marshall"

Andy: "Nah, Dave we cant really use that in the studio mate... try this" *switches on the 5150 for warm up*

lol.

Gotta love this quote:

Dave: (on his audition for Mettalica) I was convinced that I should be in the band and went to rehearsal. I was tuning up when all the other guys in the band went into another room. They weren't talking to me, so I went in and said, "Well? Am I in the band or not?" and they said, "You've got the gig." I couldn't believe how easy it had been and suggested that we get some beer to celebrate

So what's the tone coming from? the Line6 or the Prophecy? i almost got the impression that he uses the Line just for a power amp.
I thought he bypassed the Line-6 fx and used the Prophesy for them instead.
So it was L6 for tone, Prophesy for fx.
Least that's how I read into it.

if you go to the Sneap Albums sections.....Andy talks about the setup.

Also, on the Vettaville website, it appears that line6 will be annoucing a new product line in June!!:u-huh: Wonder what they got up their sleeve?? betta not be another Pod upgrade or workshop bullshit either!:hypno:

damn the gear is too heavy ? :))) last time i saw him in a video it was on metallica's shitty docum. where he was crying (!?!) and now i see him whining bout the gear being too heavy ? well its heavy metal ffs, i dunno HEAVY metal, u know rawwrrr thoughness :)))) , plus he sounds like a housewife, i mean he isnt interrested in the sound but in the practical aspect, its like when you re buying a fridge and you dont care wich one is better , you just need the smaller one wich is Almost as good as the big one :D

Hmm, we're in the Equipment forum, but all I see is 'Waah, I don't like Dave so I think I'll hijack it and call him a housewife rather than actually discuss the equipment at hand in any way that I can't just twist into not liking Dave'... interesting.

And by interesting I mean fuck that, beat Sleepwalker and then you can bitch.

Hey, I commented on the head first, and then I commented on Dave.

And again...if those are, in fact, clips of his amp on that video at the beginning and end of it, then it sounds bad. Also, as far as I've seen, the majority of the replies have been about the amp...dunno why it seems like we aren't discussing the equipment.

Sorry not everyone agrees with you about the amp sounding good...it sounds like shit IMO...but all I've heard was the audio on the video you posted so...yeah. The video was a 4 hour documentary of Dave explaining how light and simple his rig was compared to his old Marshall rig (which he went into to too much detail about) that he used. So...what is there really to comment on about the amp? That he uses the Prophesy for FX instead of the built-in ones on the Line6? That it doesn't weigh as much as a Marshall rig he once had? That it has a cool red light behind "Line6" on the front? Wow...still haven't actually heard the amp. I don't care how it's wired up in the rack.

I don't care much for the intro clip either, but if that's what he's using on the samples that are coming out then it can sound pretty fucking good. That wasn't directed at you, and I'm not going to defend shameless plugs for... how badass his power conditioner is, but very little is actually being said about it.

Maybe it's part of this trend for somewhat more accessible signature stuff? I mean, signature import lines (I'm thinking sig LTDs offered with sig ESPs) is sort of a new thing, isn't it?

"We know you can't afford a wall of Marshalls, but The General says this is just like it, easier to use, easier to afford, and easier to haul around!"

I can't tell if I'm being Pollyanna-ish or cynical :erk:
