What is a good video editor to like cut pieces of video clips up and join clips together?

I got that but I dont know if it can stick clips together, And with the cutting, It only allowed me to cut from start to a certain point or from certain point to the end, no in between cutting.

Yeah maybe that,s not the best thing but at least, elements does better work that windows movie maker.
