Of course, in each case, the production has to match the style of music, but overall everyone must have a preference at the end of the day.

For example, do you like the CLASSIC sound of a Gibson 59 Les Pauls plugged directly through tube amps? Or, do you prefer the polished MODERN sound of an Ibanez running through a Mesa Boogie and Eventide Harmonizer?
 
definitely vintage. anything too slick just feels like it was made by those fancy japanese conductor robots. a little dirt for me, thanks

In other words, there is a time and place for both. But to be completely honest, nothing gets my mojo running like saturated tubes. I can't imagine listening to Electric Wizard if they had V-drums and Crate amps.
