I suppose it's only natural that the logical conclusion of my Power Metal Week would be THE BEST POWER METAL BAND EVER. And that, folks, is Virgin Steele. Think Blind Guardian's melodic sensibility melded with the rifftastic goodness of Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I and the unerring catchiness of Manowar at their best. Fucking brilliant stuff.

Hmmm, yeah, I should have stated 90s material only–when they suddenly morphed from a generic sorta power, sorta glam band with one stop at god-awful hair metal, into complete genius.

I discovered the House of Atreaus albums fairy recently. It's one of my favorites... listened to for weeks on end.

Life among the Ruins was just cleaning out the vaults to fulfill the record contract, wasn't it?
