I've toyed around with it once, and from what I remember, it's pretty much useless for metal (unless we're talking about MT-2->clean amp kinda tones ).

Nice twang though IIRC!

just got it, only had the chance to quickly try it for 2-3 mins...damn it sounds nice!
with a TS in front it's got PLENTY of gain for metal (gain on 6-7 is enoughfor brutal stuff), but of course a 15W amp doesn't have the headroom to tupport a strong and powerfull bass (tight) for downtuned guitars, but that's to expected with ANY 15W amp....

so far I like it....but as I aid, only 2-3 mins...gonna mic it tomoz

yeah

but seriously, it's a great sounding little thing for bluesy and crunchy stff (couldn't get it totally clean, but only tried it with EMGs so far)..
this amp doesn't do metal very well (although it's got loads of gain!), the distortion is too buzzy and untight for that, bass nores don't have enogh punch...
but that's nothing negative really, this amp wasn't designed to sound like a recto....
and the sound it was designed for it's delivering beautifully it seems.
noone who wants a modern metal amp would buy this amp anyways, for me it's a cool little thing to have in the studio when the next indie band comes in

I love my nightrain. I agree, with a TS it's not bad at all for metal but it's much more suited to rock.
I love how alive it feels when playing through one.
