Wait, you mean when you expand the "inserts" thing on the track display on the left while in the edit window? Well the lack of that in Reaper doesn't bother me, that's what the mix window is for (PT is also this way)

Actually in Pro Tools you can have the Inserts show up to the right of the track names in the Edit Window much like Nuendo.

What's the rules on being a student and getting a discount? not looking for a freebee just curious..... Like if i'm going to college to be an electrician. Does that count? Or do you have to go to a certain school and taken certain audio production classes?

Doesn't matter...any student gets the student discount.

Good points Niall - also, I would add that on my computer, Reaper is fully open within 1 second of clicking on the shortcut; observe!

Can you point me in the direction where on Steinberg's site they discuss and talk about the student discount. I couldn't find anything

On sites such as musiciansfriend they say for the education edition all you need is a student/teacher ID number or the school's PO. So as long as you have an ID card with a number I think that's all they want.

I went to Musicians friend and checked out the education edition, i talked to a live support person and they said only Teachers can purchase the Educational edition....

when they are aval. let me know if it works with just a student Id because that would kick so much ass.
