Saw the new episode of South park the other day where Kenny goes on some cat urine trip and I was wondering if anyone new the movie Trey and Matt were referencing and if so, what was the band that did the awesome background music?

It was referencing the movie "Heavy Metal" - the music and visuals are all from that movie.

...And if I may say so, the new South Park episode was among their best.

Oh, my!! You HAVE to know 'Heavy Metal' if you want to post in Old School

South Park nailed it, too. I saw the movie when I was a kid, and searched for it for a decade until it was finally released on VHS. Definitely weird, definitely 70's, and definitely worth checking out.

I stumbled upon that episode of South Park the other night and was wigging! So cool to hear some of that old Heavy Metal movie soundtrack, not only the Sammy Hagar "Heavy Metal" song, but also the seldom played (but superior in my opinion) Don Felder (Eagles) song of the same name that opened Kenny's cat urine experience.

I've gotta get me a couple of male cats, ASAP. Looked like a fantastic trip!

OMG!!! When Kenny and Kyle's Dad were fighting in the Boobatorium(or whatever it was called.) Absolutely hilarious!
