I just rediscovered these guys, and a little investigation let me know that they're working on a new album. Think they'll ever get a second chance at playing ProgPower?

Edit: Also, do you think they deserve it? I vote yes!

I wouldn't be sad to hear they're still on the table. Soulrain 21 is a very good album. They weren't the can't-return-to-the-states-for-7-more-years band were they?

It was odd that right when they were announced a few years ago, I happened to stumble upon Soulrain 21 in a local CD store in the used section, after never having heard or seen anything about the band until their ProgPower announcement. I bought it and enjoy it, and was a bit disappointed that they couldn't come (similar situation to Serenity this year)...I would still like to see them live, as I have another of their albums also and find it quite good as well.

I really hope not. I never managed to hear the full story on Wastefall (or?) the 7-year band. I've been around the fest and the forum since PPIII, but I wasn't reading the forum regularly back then.

I've only got Self Exile. Is Soulrain 21 better?

I really like Wastefall. Alex and I hit it off very well during my PPUSA interview (one of my favorites!) with him two years ago.

Do they deserve to play ProgPower USA? Sure. They have the talent.

Do they deserve a second chance? Only Glenn knows for sure. None of us knows what happened when their visas fell through -- how the band handled it, what was said, attitudes, etc.

I'd love to see them play PPUSA, especially with a new album coming out some time in the near future.

I think my favorite is still Self Exile. That was the album I asked Alex about, track by track. I gained a tremendous appreciation for their music (and for Greece) after that.

I'm looking forward to hearing their new album!

For a while it was just me and the guitarist talking in the forum. now it's dead lol All the band members are cool guys though

I prefer Soultrain 21 to Self Exile. But they are completely different albums. Which is awesome. Think I need to find my Soultrain 21 album..

I personally thought Self Exile paled in comparison to Soulrain 21. Actually, I consider Self Exile somewhat disappointing. Maybe it was rushed or something... Anyone with me?

Glenn mentioned that the problem was on the Greek Government end, not on the band nor the US. It was a general consensus that the problem was one or more of the band members did not fulfill their military requirements. So, the Greek government put the kibosh on them.

Freudian slip, here? :heh:

"Soullllllllllllllltrainnnnnnnnnn!"

FWIW, I'd like to see Wastefall get another chance, too. 'Course, I'm one of the 3 or 4 people here who will admit to liking Pain of Salvation "back in the day"........

+1... Self Exile was awful from my point of view compared to S21.
