those of you familiar with Soilwork...on the song "wherever thorns may grow"
in the chorus are they saying?

Better take a look inside
will you ever realize
the greatest airport ever known
?????

Makes total sense to me.

Airport could mean:

1) place to go to other destinations
2) place to arrive
3) link to far away places/things/mindsets
4) a place to start a journey
5) a place to arrive again
6) etc. etc.

I don't know the song, but it's not a bad metaphor at all and I interpret it as him saying that inside of yourself is a great opportunity to reach out and discover new things. This could be in contrast with something he writes about earlier in the song ...

true....just seems weird to me...he may be saying something else but it really sounds like he's saing airport

Nah, if he were actually saying "airport" it would indeed be a horrible metaphor. Being explicable isn't synonymous with being good.
This thread does however remind me of a friend of mind thinking the first line of Meshuggah's Beneath was "It's time to go into the meat pillow."

Egan: compared to the "shadows of darkness deep inside the void" or "burning misery, flames of pain" kinda lyrics that populate 99% of all metal, I really think that an airport inside is rather cool ... :)

Oh man, nothing will ever beat my discover of Vintersorg's misheard lyric "the concept of these arcane pergaments" (which he says sounding exactly like "the context of these, ARRR, cheeseburger madness," and it's freakin' hysterical  ) - 1:53 in the song below (and it's a damn good song IMO)

Honestly, after hearing the Wishmaster misheard lyrics, that song was never the same for me

Even now when I was typing it in the youtube search, I typed "Wishamster"
