Welcome home from Montana!

I was there, and these ladies were fantastic! As a hardcore Maiden fan, I can honestly say that, next to the real thing, these girls are the best metal band of all time. this was my first time seeing them live, and will definitly not be the last!

Their cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name was the absolute best part of the entire festival.

Montana was BEAUTIFUL and we had a blast Rockin' the Rivers! What a great experience it was! We had a few fearful moments of wondering if our instruments, props and most of our baggage were ever going to arrive, but had a happy ending there and the show went on to an unbelievably enthusiastic audience who had been partying all day and all night. The stage was HUGE and the sound and lights were just incredible. :worship:

Thanks to the promoters, stage hands and crew and for their professionalism and hospitality. Working with them was an absolute pleasure. They took great care of us and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. A first class organization.

A 1000 thanks to our manager and crew who made it possible for us to stay centered and focused on the show itself. We couldn't do it without them. :headbang:

**Special thanks to Ocean Six (who played on Sunday). They came in a day early just to see us  cuz they are all huge Maiden fans. **
Thanks guys!

I felt so bad I couldn't make it, but circumstances beyond my control (read AC went out at home...$$ ta fix) made it so I couldn't make it. Glad to hear you all had a blast and can't wait to see you all agian soon.

I was hoping you would say it was a tiny stage, no lights but you had fun anyway ;) BTW did you call out my friends that kept messaging me and rubbin' my nose in not being there? :D

I'm gonna work on getting to the Seattle shows!

The 'Maidens should definitly play again next year!

ps the lead guitarist of Ocean 6 had on an Iron Maidens shirt during their set. Nice guys, but really second-rate musicians. No good.

We would love to go back! I would recommend getting everyone ya know to go on the Rockin the Rivers forum and start petitioning for the return of the Maidens to Montana!!!!!! :headbang: After all, if they don't know what you want they can't give it to you!!!
Here's the link to their website: http://www.rockintherivers.net/

We heard there was a band there that wore one of our shirts - I didn't know it was them! That was way cool of them. Thanks for the recap, EdwardTheGreat!

Montana rules! Such a peaceful and pretty place! I'm a Montana native and it makes me proud to see that Montana is full of wild and crazy music lovers without a doubt! Thanks for making it so memorable everyone! Hope we can come back next year! Welcome to the boards, Edward The Great!

And I just wanna say...

I love you too! :D

I, too, was in the audience at RnR to see the Maidens put every other Saturday band to shame. I saw the midnight show of Thund-Her-Struck the night before and thought nothing could compare, and then the Maidens come out and drop my jaw. An amazing set, not a single missed note, and you guys definately know how to work a crowd. :)

God forbid you don't come back next year, preferably in a better time slot, say, the headlining band on Friday night, maybe? :)

Sadly, though, I wasn't quick enough to run over to the merch booth and grab some swag, so thankfully you guys sell straight from your website. I had my doubts at first, but you blew me away! :)

Now Playing: Dream Theater - The Glass Prison

Bloody hell, man! That was either a good guess or you do know me. :)

I've got my suspicions, though.... :)

Incidentally, I WAS a little tipsy during the Maidens set, but just a little.

Now Playing: Coheed And Cambria - The Crowing

I wasn't lost, I was simply exploring alternative routes home. I mean, doesn't it get boring taking the same way back from the venue to the campsite every night? I wanted to investigate fully all of the other options for finding my way to camp. I'm just not boring and, well, sober like you. :)

i had some of that lewis and clark microbrew after the show - excellent! - god bless montana and to go cups! on our way to the show we seen alot of cars pulled over by the popo - then we were next. must have been funny for the officer to see eddie sitting in the front seat on mark's lap.
straylight - remininds me of a robert frost poem:

The Road Not Taken
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
