I've had the "russian" version of Nokturnal Mortums latest album for awhile now but last night i heard the english version (with the german title Weltanschauung :Spin: ) for the first time. Now I was pretty tired and I might have had my head up my ass but doesn't Mirovozzrenie have somewhat different production fitting the style better and making the songs sound heavier?

I haven't heard either. What are you saying, that the Russian > English version? I guess the question was inevitably going to be asked, if you were only going to get one....

I'll say that that Russian > English version.

as for the production being different? Ok maybe it is slightly but I don't think its enough to alter the feel that much (that I've noticed). I really haven't done that much of a A/B test between the two for the production, most of the time when I've done that I've been focusing on the vocal delivery.

I listened to it some more yesterday and I don't think there are any relevant differences in the music. As for which version is best I find the russian version superior because the vocals sound much better and also "flows" with the songs in a way the english vocals dont.

So what is the difference here anyhow? I'm on my first listen of Мировоззрение and it's god damn fucking cool. Should I pick up Weltanschauung because the English lyrics are worth it?

[/NAD, whom finally recognizes the glory of Nokturnal Mortum, beckons thing 2005]

EDIT: Nevermind, should have read the other thread, it goes into this. Well whatever, I've bumped it now. Curse my leap-before-looking hide.

i think the english version is much worse fwiw

the vocals sound forced because they've made a pretty rough english translation and then tried to force those words into the same melodies and timing, and it sounds really awkward

Yep. I downloaded the English version last night and only listened to a few songs, then put the O.G. version back on. Far better conviction and I mean why the hell else would I listen to this particular kind of serious black metal? HEART + SOUL

Too bad my CD has a dent on it, so the keyboard thingy at the end skips like mad. Tragedy of the first order!
