Am I the only one surprised that Wolves in the Throne Room is getting so many votes over Deathspell Omega? I haven't tallied it or anything but while just browsing the thread, WitTR seem to be getting more than I expected.

Not completely. The praise DSO gets, though high, tends to come from the same few people. Wolves is clearly more accessible. <--- probably the first time Wiolves in the Throne Room has ever been described as "accessible".

I'd agree with that to a degree, especially since there are obvious bouts of melody scattered throughout 12 Diadems....but I think the vocals on Wolves are much more difficult to take than those on DsO

Even the weakest Immortal album is better than the best from The Chasm.

I've never been a huge fan of DsO's "SMRC." I actually prefer "Kenose." But yeah, I'd rather listen to Wolves "Do12S" over "SMRC."
