Well, we went to Spain this past weekend to perform for the Extremusika Festival in Caceres (which is about 240 km from Madrid). It's quite an event and people come from all over the country to attend. We were told this year -the festival's 4th- there were about 15,000 people in attendance. We were scheduled to play on the closing night - Sat. The festival started on Thursday - and so did the rain. When we got there on Fri. it rained and rained and rained - very unusual for this time of year. It was so heavy throughout the night and then the winds kicked in quite strongly as well. The organizers finally decided to cancel the final day of the show due to their concerns for the safety of the performers - the barriers had no purchase and weren't staying in place in the mud plus the main stage had no covering over the top so the artists were at risk of getting an unintentional afro or worse! So the only song I was singing this weekend was "How Dry I Am...." :erk:

Guess its true. "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain". :loco:

Sorry to hear the Spanish Maiden fans had to miss out.

Welcome back! Bummer on the show, kinda makes you wonder what they were thinking when the planned an "Outside" show at a time when the weather may interfere with it, especially one this large and expensive! Oh well. Were there any dinners for the bands only? I hope Sara showed them another Good Ole USA Belch!

It was strange cuz we basically flew to a remote part of Spain just to have dinner and a brief stroll about town and then flew home! We never got our release from playing the show either so pent up energy called for some good (and STRONG!!!!!) local wine! :) Maybe we'll be asked to try again next year! :headbang:
