we're killing the music industry

SORRY ABOUT THE BAD ENGLISH.SO, NO ONE AGREES?TOUGH LUCK.I STILL HAVE THE SAME OPINION AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE BACK HERE THINK THE SAME AND I ALSO COMUNICATED WITH OTHERS IN OTHER CONTRIES AND THE SAME THIG....

What language did you use to communicate with them with?:Spin:

i download a lot of music. but only a song or two from each album. if i like the album i buy it. simple, right? It's like what you do at the music store, where they have the scanner and you scan the album and it plays a song or two for you, right?

Downloading music and not buying it (especially if you like it) is just plain wrong. I hate people that do that, because a lot of times it happens to people that dont have many fans, but the people that are their fans are the ones downloading it instead of buying it. for bands like metallica, i mean come on...they dont need any more money (though i can honestly say i have bought all of my metallica albums...only the first 3 though) but bands like Amon Amarth, for instance, who dont really have as many fans and dont make 5 straight platinum albums, they need the money. They are the ones getting screwed and they are the ones who need to tour all year round non-stop just to be able to eat and pay their expenses *caugh booze caugh*.

Anyway, i think the key here is buy your music and support the artists, though downloading a few songs to see if it's worth buying is fine by me...hell i'm not paying $15 for an album i hate...well, i bought AYDY? but that's only because it was a good deal at the store.

I read the first line. By the way I ordered hatebreeder from Electric Phetus and Im picking it up tomorrow.

I download a full album. I never buy a CD for one or two songs. I always make sure I like the full album before I buy it. I always listen to full albums at a time.

If I like it, I buy it. If I don't I delete it. Simple as that.

I'm not killing anything. In fact if it wasn't for people like me some of these bands would never get popular. I like to spread word about bands too.

You are a fucking idiot. MANY people here just said they AGREE with what you have to say. They don't agree with you not being able to type a normal english sentance.

My Thoughts on Downloading Music.

I honestly download music, and agree it is a great way of finding music you liek, and deciding if you want to buy that cd. However, what about in the 70's and 80's? People bought records then and they didn't have interent either.

Many people also download music and dont bother getting the album because they have no incentive to get it, they already have it. If you want to argue this fact go right on ahead, but those people who abuse the system pretty much ruinit for everyone. If the record companies didn't see a dramatic change in thier sales their would be no argument, as long as they got their money they were happy. Fact is many people stopped buying albums, because they no longer had to.

Complaining on the internet about downloading music is EXTREAMLY biased. Obviously someone who spends alot of time in front of a computer in a day will think downloading is okay. Not being able to afford CDs is just bullshit. Of course there are alot of people in the world who cant afford CDs, and many people who cant even afford a meal every day, but yet theyy can still afford a computer and interent connection? Fuck you! Total fucking bullshit, fact is you dont want to spend your hard earned allouance on CDs so you download. Obviously this guy needs to forget music and intrnet connections, and should be spending mony on a book to learn proper english.

I may be a huge hipocrit for typing this all out. 1) because I am insulting this person's grammer and spelling when mine is nearly as horrid, and 2) Because i have alot of downloaded music and am currently downloading a bootleg version of the Detroit show. I do buy whatever Bodom CDs I can when i can find them they are very Rare in my Area along with alot of the best music. I have never seen a Nightwish cd, and I have never seen the real cd for Hatebreeder or Somthing Wild, but my main point that the many people out there who dont own a single cd because they download is strong enough.

It's too hard to find most of the stuff i listen to in any stores around where i Live. And I can't order stuff off the internet. So I really have no choice, and besides for me, its like a learning tool hehe, cuz I need to study the different production values of metal LOL.. <<<< Total cop out. But on the bright side I did buy Opeth's newest album, it was only 14.99!!!!, compared to other metal cd's which are 24-29$.

if its not in your area I'll agree it makes sence, thats why I download most of my music I cant find it anywere. Everystore I go to only has one copy of HCDR. I could order Hatebreeder though music world where i work, but it would take 100 years to get.

If it wasn't for downloading I would have never heard of In Flames, CoB, Arch Enemy, Hypocrisy, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity until recently. (I started listening to these bands in 2000).

I would have NEVER heard of Sonata Arctica, Nightwish (Maybe, they still don't get much push around here), Korpiklaani, Hammerfall, Evemaster, Dimension Zero, At The Gates, Amon Amarth, You get the idea.

The internet is a good thing for music, because now anyone can find and get your music from anywhere around the world, and no longer are small indie bands confined to selling merch and albums to people in the local area or the stops on a tour. All you need is a website with samples and an email adress. NO paying for distribution.
