What 5" or under monitors are you using?

I have some HS80Ms that I'm wanting to part with and downsize to something 5" or under, that can be used on a table with some angled pads.

I mostly record guitars/bass at home to programmed MIDI drums, and due to the direction life is taking, I need to downsize on personal belongings, so the studio desk and larger monitors/stands need to go. I need portability while retaining clarity and spacial separation.

I've noticed a lack of low-end and slight fatiguing harshness to the HS80Ms anyway. I'm looking to find something that will be a good replacement without being too disappointing.

I used 1st Gen KRK Rokit 5's for a loooong time and when going to hs80m's it's been hard to like what's going on. i feel the same way. the krk's felt more 'full' and much smoother. i always had a pretty good results as far as translation.

I had KRK Rokit 5s before the HS80Ms, and although the Yammies have a much better high-end clarity, there was definitely more bass in the KRKs. I A/B'd them for awhile and eventually found myself loathing the KRK 5s after awhile and sold them.

Mackie mr5, rear firing so coupling is a hurdle, actually convinced me to buy bass traps early on. Will let you know where where your mud is.

Equator D5's they showed up last thrusday, the mids and lower mids make my Rockit 8 G2s sound cloudy and mushy.

Had my Equator D5s for a couple weeks now. Love them. It's weird how they change a little though, the high end starts out harsh and they gradually "break in". First time I've ever noticed a speaker break in and change like that.

Has anybody owned the Equator D5s and can compared them to Adam A3X or Tannoy Reveal 501s?

I've heard the D5s can be harsh and the pairs are sometimes not matched that well.

How's the bass response? The HS80Ms lack bass significantly. I don't get as much thumb from the kick and bass guitar as I feel I should be, but it's workable.
