if any....

I'd like to know any ways to modify a solid-state head (specifically , a Marshall MG 100 HDFX) , to increase the amount of gain , at least . Any other modifications you've done/know of would be nice to know .

Modifying tube amps are common. People often buy "groove tubes" and make other mods as well, but modifying a ss amp is not common. I won't say it can't be done, but modern ss amps now incorporate a lot of circuitry to try and simulate a "tube" sound. To make mods on that circuitry, one would practically have to be an electronic engineer skilled in audio.

Bryant is right-Solid state stuff is more technical and "Hard wired"-more circuit boards, etc.

Unlike a tube amp that is a bit more low tech, and can have things done to it(extra tubes in the gain circuit, etc)

I suggest you just get another amp or a distortion pedal to drive it.
