Someone got hosed hard. A data recovery on a fully functioning hard drive costs nowhere near that. I just did a full recovery on a dead drive for 3k-that was 150gig worth, and rebuilding the dead drive and I even threw in a free usb drive to the customer with their data .I really need to start dealing with government

Computer scientist friends of mine specialised in data recovery in the University. I find it hard to believe that even reformatting the back-up would make it totally impossible to retrieve the data. I bet if they went back to the first drive he cleared, its all still sittin there.

But what am I talking about? I'm a simple desk jockey. These are federal employees! They know everything and are paid everything to know it!
