What do you think of the band Angra

the (old) Angra is one of my three favorite bands... it's soooo infinitely good, both considering that they're from a country very anti power metal (though they're a really special power metal) and also without special considerations (cause they fucking rule even internationally)
really, it's one of the bands i feel most close to...
the new Angra is something else though... i figure it's more popular now, but it's quite not the same sound as it was before
still really like it, it sounds really good and it's all very well composed (and played, those guitarrists = godly)
Holy Land is one of the 10 best cds i can think of!
btw i'm sure you people will bash it a lot cause most of you only listen to black/death metal and hate power metal... but take my advice and check it out (specially the old one, it's the least power metal sounding one) cause it's top of the line music

when i read the title of this thred and saw that there were 2 replies (the last one was from Tut) i knew he wud say something about Glory Opera 
Angra is a pretty good band, and i dunno what to say, i just like Angra a lot and also like Shaman (75% ex-Angra). their last (Shaman) show here in Rio kicked some ass.

Angra is the best live band I've seen (5 times in total) and I still can't find any band to compare them with.
Holy land is in my top 3 90's cds along with Painkiller and Images and Words

I don't hate them, because I don't hate anybody or anything.
Even from the beggining they are a copy of helloween or at least that's how I feel about them.

@CERVEZA: ese es el tema, no son del todo power, prestales atencion porque tienen muchos elementos propios, no es el tipico modelo power metal...
por ej. pusieron elementos de su folklore por todas partes (en Holy Land por lo menos), en Fireworks ya no habia de eso pero incluso sonando un poco mas abierto y comercial, estaba increiblemente bien compuesto y arreglado, todo perfectamente tocado, etc
translation/bottomline: i'd totally recommend anyone who's up for a kick in the ass, to check out the Old Angra and Shaman, it's fucking kick ass music not (exactly) like anything you heard before!

They've reached a better level with the new line up. And I don't care anymore about their splitting up... André Matos and the other guys started another cool band... so now we have 2 kick ass bands around here.
...but Angra is still a LOT better than Shaman, imo.
