Yeah, I have a feeling that some of these new songs are gonna kick lots of ass live .
And for the album, I was a little disappointed at first, but I gave it about ten spins and it starts to sound more than decent. Still, not the best CoB album, though.

I seriously doubt it, CoB live is beyond weak. Tuska 03 anyone?!

i just listened to their new cd and i was deffinatly dissapointed. the riffs were nothing like any of the previous albums. they lost most of their keyboard melodys and alexis singing sounded like he was just yelling most of the time.

it doesnt even sound like the same band. i would have much rather heard another sound close to Something Wild of Follow the Reaper.

anyone else dissapointed with the new cd?

Where have you been the last couple months? This is the story of this board. I dub this thread the "What happened to bodom thread #4985345723895"

I think the new album is quite good actually. The seem to get the hang of their new style better so it sounds more fluent than on HCDR, the melodies are kickass.. I like it. It doesnt redefine Melodic Death Metal but it's definitely a solid album.

see im going to have to dissagree. to me this album sounds like they made it in about a month, when in reality it took a lot longer. the songs dont really seem to go together that much and theyve lost lots of the melodic qualities they used to have.

So they were so much more better than the old ones that you had to use them as beer mats? :p

Well spoken Konrad!

when i first heard In Your Face, the keys and such start off like a good Bodom song, but as it went on....i dont know. right now im not particularly fond of this album. i guess the thing is, compared to a lot of other metal bands, this album is good. but for Bodom it is definitely different. i can't say that bands shouldn't change, because change is good...in moderation i guess. i'll probably end up liking some of the songs, because it's Bodom. well, maybe i will lol, some of it is kindof hard to listen to at times. but i'm not going to go out and say Bodom sucks, because i dont think they do, definitely not.

not open to change? i've stuck through when bands like Opeth totally changed from metal to mellow and back again, i've stuck through with ozzy with every guitarist change he's done, i've stuck through with COB on their last "change"(HCDR, i think its a great album, have since day 1), this album is shit, theres no getting around it...

all of ozzys guitar players have kicked fucking ass though. in my opinion, of course. i honestly see no complaint with his guitar changes, they are/were, all excellent guitar players
