What is the best way to measure the frequency balance in your control room?

Hey there, some great stuff on this forum and i probably have looked enough to find the answer to this question.

how do you measure the acoustics of your control room and your live room?

A decent measurement mic or any omni mic with a really, really flat frequency response into a clean mic preamp into a decent converter and some sort of analyzing software. Place the mic where your head would be when listening.
