What is wrong with my snare?

Hey guys,

So I've got a few friends on here and I've learned quite a bit of stuff from this forum, so firstly, thanks guys! <3

I've been working with the drummer of this band for a drum sound that he likes, but something about this snare is frustrating me, it's very weak and I'm lost at what to do. Maybe blend a 3rd sample in there?

the snare is too boxy. have to cut more low end. and put a compressor on it. but also it depends when the guitar and bass in too.

It doesn't sound like you have any processing running on these drums at all.

None? I can assure you I've got quite a bit. Compressors, Reverb, Gates, EQ, Transient, etc. What makes you say that though? Just sounds very raw?

I'd say take ALL the processing off the drums and repost this clip. It just sounds to me like there is too much processing.
