having lived in beijing for the past 5 months or so, and experiencing the vastly different cost of living in terms of food, clothing, housing, etc. has profoundly reinforced the absurdity of how much music costs. i could go out to eat in a decent restaurant, not just some cheapo hole in the wall, maybe 5 or 6 times for the cost of one CD. buying music at this point in my life is a complete nonexistence

I just downloaded Opeth's Burden single from i-tunes. I have to say WOULD? was fantastic! And Melletron Heart was pretty awesome as well. Would have rather had a hard copy? Of course, but these will do for now. I also downloaded some of the bonus songs from the Watershed SE. I have the SE but it was a pain to have to listen to thse songs through my TV. Not I can listen to them on my i-pod anytime I want to. Actual CD's that I've purchased have been PF's the Division Bell, Dream Theaters Greatest Hi and Peaceville Classic Cuts. It's a sampler or bands from the Peaceville label that went on to become huge. Opeth, Kamalot, and a few others that I'd never heard of, living on this side of the pond. But I LOVE this CD!!!!I got mine from an Amazon seller for lik 1$. Great stuff.
