Over the Last month:
Devil Doll - Dies Irae (great Therion-ish stuff with orchestra, but no choirs A+++++)
Jethro Tull - Crest of a Knave (I'm sure no introduction is needed)
Anathema - Serenades (really hard to find where I live; just completed collection; essential stuff!!! A+++++++)
Grand Alchemist - Intervening Coma Celebration (black/thrash; pretty decent and altogether not too bad; latter half of the album is better than the first half)
Orkrist - Reginae Mysterium (I was fairly disappointed; not quite what I was expecting, as the guitars were very rudimentarily easy utilizing extremely simple power chord progressions. The melody remained mostly in the keyboards while not turning it over to the flute, but guitar melody was virtually non-existent; they didn't even utilize full chords. Still, not too bad; listenable)
Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors (pure brilliance; if you don't have it yet, get it!! A++++++)
Vintersorg - Visions from the Spiral Generator (surely needs no introduction; an overall excellent album, well-composed)
Rakoth - Planeshift (I'd encountered this band on mp3.com before, but I didn't know they'd been licensed to Earache, so I was very surprised to find their disc in my neck of the woods; they sound like Jethro Tull infused with Grade A black metal; all in all great album)
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia (quite possibly one of the best albums they've done)
Swan Christy - Today Died Yesterday (Power/Prog/Black[?] metal; good album)
Morgion - Solinari (Decent somewhat melodic doom metal; they're no Anathema, but they're nothing to scoff at either!)
Lilitu - Earth Gods (Another decent black/doom metal band out of America; pretty good stuff, although production could have been better)
Opeth - Deliverance (need I say more? Excellent!!!)
I buy so much music, all the time, that I probably left out some stuff; I'll be going music shopping again tomorrow, so I'll let you know what I pick up!!
