What Song?

For me it was Among the Living or Indians.

I got into John Bush with Raising Fear and Saturday Night Special by Armored Saint. I LOVED Armored Saint more than Anthrax back then. Symbol of Salvation is one of my favorite albums of all time and the concert I went to on that tour was one of the best I have ever seen.

I loved Sound of White Noise when it came out.

Hey Gas.....did you pick up the re-release of SOS that had the demo disk of SOS with Dave Prichard playing??? It is awesome to hear those songs in such a raw setting. Symbol of Salvation is definatley one of the best metal releases ever but my personal fav is Delirious Nomad. I talked to John at the Orlando show a week ago about any Armored Saint in the future and he gave me the canned answer that it was all about Anthrax at the moment. I was telling him that I had seen Joey Vera with Fates Warning at the same House of Blues just about a month earlier. Anyway, meeting John was cool as hell, he is BY FAR my favorite singer ever. Started WAY WAY back with Metal Massacre 2 and "Lesson Well Learned" and then I bought their infamous EP and was hooked ever since.

First song I heard was "I'm the man" when it first came out, then I bought "Among the living" when that came out. I didnt even know Anthrax was metal, like most ppl...I thought they were just some weirdo white guys. I went through 3 copies of the tape before my walkman broke. THE song that really got me was "A.D.I. - Horror of it All" . That intro is just SICK!

from the moment i heard "I AM THE LAW" on KNAC. then everytime i heard it i would stop whatever i was doing and crank up the stereo. and at the time i was installing gigantic sound systems for movie stars in L.A. so i got to listen to it REAL LOUD. then i ended up on tour with them a few months later and got to hear it every night REAL REAL LOUD. I still love that song to this day.

Belly of the Beast (Live) on Attack of the Killer B's. That and Parasite, Milk, and Protest and Survive. That was the first Anthrax album I bought (it had Bring the Noize.) The best thing they ever did was mention that Keep it in the Family and Belly of the Beast could be found on the Persistence of Time record in the liner notes. As a result, I went out and got P.O.T. and haven't looked back since. Up until WCFYA came out, P.O.T. was still my favorite Anthrax record. Being a guitar player, you can't help but appreciate that album for the truly amazing creative and progressive nature of it. Fucking out of control guitar work. I haven't heard anything before, or since that album that reminds me of anything close to it.

I'm of the opinion that they should re-record every Anthrax album they ever made with John Bush singing---and I was PISSED when they got rid of Joey back in the day. But White Noise changed all that, and all I can say now is that Bush is the fucking man. I remember the first time I heard him sing Keep it in the Family and In My World on the White Noise tour, and I was sold. So if Charlie reads this, that's my request for the boxed set. RE-RECORD EVERY ALBUM with Bush and end this silly flame war for good. Well, except for perhaps Spreading the Disease, unless you can get Bruce Dickenson to do guest vocals for a record. Way too opera-like for the Bush-ster.

John has already done AIR, Lone Justice, Madhouse, part of Armed and Dangerous and Gung-ho live. I have seen him do AIR and Madhouse. I have a bootleg of "Armed and Dangerous" and I have heard him do the first line of Lone Justice. He does them quite well.

What don't you know about Anthrax? In regard to the massive list of set lists you posted: Can you confirm if they did God Save the Queen with Kirk Hammet on July 3rd 1987. I got thrown out during Caught In a Mosh, that totally blew, then my freinds come out and tell me that Kirk came on with them.

I can nether confirm nor deny that. I have seen a small b&w photo of Kirk Hammet and Scott on stage, circa late 80s. It was in a book about Metallica.

But I do know that show was at the Civic Center in Santa Monica.

The night started out so promising too. First Testament then Metal Church. I dragged my friends out to the Corona Beer Gardens I think on July 5th so I could see Anthrax. Back in those days Scott swung a big double dong around during I'm the Man.
