What sort of drumkit is best for metal?

Okay, i`m just now only considering and thinking about it...but maybe till next spring i have taken some drumming lessons, who knows....i´m kind of person full of suprises;) I´ll keep you updated;)
 
a good medium priced metal kit is the pearl export. common, so parts won't be a hassle, strong hardware, big sound, mass produced. similar kits are made by tama, mapex, sonor, premier, and others, but i think in this particular price range the pearl is slightly better.
 
Yeah, I'd agree with the Pearl Export... Plus if you get a 5 peice, it'll be easier to find matching components if you want to expand later.

I sold a Tama Rockstar DX 8-peice for around $750, so good deals are out there if you're willing to search.

Depends on where you live too... there are an abundance of used drum kits in the bay area here, not so sure about other locales...
